VALENTINA MANCINI is an Eisenhower High School graduate with high ranks in an advanced curriculum while participating in numerous extracurricular activities, including soccer, the National Honor Society, and Spanish Honors Society in which Valentina served as president. In addition to juggling her on-campus commitment, she worked in a pediatric medical office, demonstrating her commitment to pursue a medical career.  She begins undergraduate studies at Oakland University this fall with the ultimate goal of specializing in Radiological Technology.  

MAYA LYJAK is also an Eisenhower High School graduate and will begin pre-medical studies this fall at Michigan State University’s Lyman Briggs College. While at Eisenhower High, Maya excelled in Advanced Placement courses and was active on the girls’ varsity golf team.  Her career goal is to become a dermatologist, in part because of personally understanding the physical and emotional aspects of skin. Through this specialty, Maya is also hoping to support patients through diagnosis, treatment, and recovery when serious skin disorders exist, such as skin cancer.

For nearly 30 years, Dr. Ban Barbat’s dental office has been a generous supporter of the Macomb County community. In addition to annual scholarships and other support, Dr. Barbat has been a consistent sponsor of Shelby Parks & Recreation department’s activities and events. 

A general dentist, Dr. Barbat has a widespread reputation for providing patients with a comfortable experience. She is committed to optimizing her patients’ oral health through advanced skills and cutting-edge technology. Her dental office provides all levels of cosmetic and restorative dentistry (including all stages of dental implants), TMJ therapy, oral appliance therapy (for snoring and sleep apnea), and advanced methods to treat most stages of gum disease.
