With nearly two decades of experience, Dr. Shakfa delivers advanced, patient-focused care at Dr. Barbat’s Shelby Township practice. Working alongside Dr. Barbat, he upholds the same commitment to comfort, precision, and compassion.
Education & Surgical Foundation
Dr. Shakfa completed an Oral Surgery Internship at Indiana University–Purdue (2005), and went on to earn his DDS from the University of Detroit Mercy (2006). During his training, he received the Michigan Dental Association Ambassador Peer Review Award (2004–2006).
Advanced Training & Areas of Expertise
In 2014, at Miami Valley Hospital, Dr. Shakfa specialized further in pain management and sleep dentistry. He stays current with the latest tools and techniques to ensure all care is precise, comfortable, and technology-equipped.

Known for his gentle chairside manner and meticulous attention to detail, Dr. Shakfa’s practice areas include dental implants, oral surgeries, endodontic treatment, and IV sedation dentistry.
