Dr. Ban R. Barbat is a general and cosmetic dentist with 25+ years of experience, helping patients achieve healthy, confident smiles.
Education & Early Recognition
Dr. Barbat began her studies at Wayne State University (Detroit) and earned her DDS from the University of Michigan School of Dentistry (Ann Arbor). Early in her career she received top honors in comprehensive care, crowns, and bridgework.

As the founder and lead dentist of her Shelby Township practice, Dr. Barbat focuses on personalized, comprehensive dentistry. She builds long-term relationships, emphasizes prevention, and uses state-of-the-art technology and modern techniques to make care precise, comfortable, and efficient.
Clinical Focus
Her approach begins with preventive and general dentistry including routine exams, professional cleanings, digital X-rays, and periodontal care all designed to stop small problems before they become major ones.
To help patients at ease, she offers oral sedation and nitrous oxide, along with a reputation among patients for an exceptionally gentle touch. Advanced technology including lasers, digital scanning, and CBCT imaging further enhance accuracy and efficiency while reducing treatment discomfort.
Beyond prevention, Dr. Barbat provides advanced services such as veneers, crowns, dental implants, full-mouth reconstruction, TMJ treatment, and endodontics. Advanced Training: TMJ & Neuromuscular Dentistry
With more than 300 hours of advanced training, Dr. Barbat has earned Fellowship status in Neuromuscular Dentistry. She applies this expertise to help patients find relief from TMJ/TMD symptoms and select sleep-related concerns. By focusing on a balanced bite and proper jaw function, her care helps reduce pain, improve comfort, and support long-term stability.
Community & Life Outside the Office
Dr. Barbat is a long-time supporter of the Shelby Township community. For more than 15 years, she has awarded scholarships to college-bound high school students, actively supported Shelby Parks and Recreation, and contributed to many local causes that matter to her patients and neighbors.
Outside the office, Dr. Barbat enjoys cooking, traveling, dancing, fitness, and most of all spending time with her family.
